Essential Information

Rachel Simpson is an Interaction Designer living in Vancouver, Canada. That’s her, in that nice picture taken by Jerome Kashetsky. She recently completed the Industrial Design program at Emily Carr University, and is currently working as one of the many elite interactive ninja nerd problem solvers at the fabulous mod7.

She’s a community-involved ultrageek, interested in concepts like self-reliance and open source models as applied to other things. Things like education, design and business, for example. Manifestations of these ideas include the myhomeyourhome project, and the rachel grows project.

She has worked as the Online Content Manager for the Millennium Network, as well as a research assistant for Lat 29 in partnership with Emily Carr University, designing and developing a mobile app for the iPhone. She also recently completed a research assistant position with Stantec and Emily Carr, and a data visualization project with the BC Children’s Hospital’s Emergency Department.

She likes rock climbing, Dr. Who, and making supper with nerdy folks.
