ReCite Application
2010
ReCite is a mobile application which displays Emily Carr student audio/visual work based on the user’s location in Vancouver.
A collaboration with Lat 49 staff, Maria Lantin and Suzi Webster at Emily Carr University, and Master’s Student Jessica Butler.

ReCite is an application designed to deliver media content based on the users’ location- is explores the possibilities of spatial dimensions and environment as an element of mixed media art.

The research being conducted by Emily Carr and Lat49 centered around the integration of movement patterns around the city to the delivery of just-in-time content. Our role was to design and prototype elements of the application, to determine the user experience of this unprecedented concept.
We were also responsible for developing a visual language for the application, representing the overlapping spheres of urban space.
From the Press Release:
“The application will showcase the work of prominent local cultural producers including Emily Carr University faculty and students, providing an opportunity for them to connect to a locally engaged public. ReCite will be a celebration of Vancouver, and other future cities’, arts and culture.
